Venice Maritime School
The Consortium of the Venice Maritime School (VeMarS) deals with the education, training and advancement of maritime staff, according to the international regulations set down in the STCW '78-'95 Convention.

The Consortium was founded on the 6th October, 2004, by a group of four associations from both public and private sector
- Actv S.p.A. (Venice Transport Authority)
- APV(Venice Port Authority)
- Pianura Armatori S.r.l.
- SSMC (Association for Naval safety management and consulting) of Giovanni Faraguna

The Consortium has one of the most advanced naval simulators in Europe, used for the training of Merchant Navy officials.
The centre also has large lecture rooms for training in maritime and port courses which do not require the use of the simulators .
